Booking Terms & Conditions

Booking Terms & Conditions

Existing customers will have the opportunity to re-book on priority booking week (week 8). To ensure a place on the next course payment must be received within the priority booking deadline (By week 10).
The re-booking process will guarantee a place on the next course; it will not however guarantee a specific time slot. All pupils are subject to movement within the class schedules, and due to the range of ability levels it is possible that no space will be available during the same time slot. We will endeavour to be flexible in allocation of places according to ability, but may find it impossible to meet every eventuality.

Lesson Procedure and Canecelled Lessons

Lesson Procedures.
Please ensure your child wears a swimsuit that is not too loose or baggy as this can create ‘drag’ in the water and make swimming more difficult. Please ensure that noise is kept to a minimum whilst watching the lessons and any children watching are kept close to you at all times. Parents must never distract the swimming teacher or their child during the lesson.
Parents are responsible for children in the changing area. It is very important that children behave appropriately at all times while at the swimming venue.

Cancelled lessons.
Swimming pools are hired from a range of organisations that are directly responsible for the pool maintenance; occasionally we encounter problems outside of our control and have no option but to cancel a lesson. The missed lesson will be added on to the end of the course.

Changing Rooms, Class Size and Cancellations

Changing Rooms.
All children over 8 should use the correct changing room for their gender, and parents changing children under 8 should change them in the changing room for the parent’s gender, NOT the child’s.

Class Size.
Listed class numbers are target figures and cannot always be guaranteed. There are times when a teacher may be unable to attend due to sickness. In the unusual event of this, every effort is made to provide a replacement but occasionally classes may need to be combined.

Refunds & Cancellations.
Staff, Teachers and pool space are paid for each term based on the numbers booked into the swimming school. Therefore it is our policy not to offer refunds or make-up lessons for non attendance. Cancellations will not be accepted and no refund given after lessons have commenced. Any refunds given will be at the discretion of the swimming school proprietor.

Health & Safety

Health & Safety.
Due to child protection laws we cannot allow parents to take photos whilst children are swimming or on the poolside. Therefore all camera equipment MUST be switched off (including mobile phones).
Footwear.
Cryptosporidium is a unicellular organism (a protozoa), a well known source of gastro-intestinal illness in drinking water, but now also recognised as a much less common cause of illness from swimming pools. The prevention of the illness can be helped by; ensuring that the pollution from outdoor shoes/prams is not brought into the vicinity of the pool.
Make sure that your child/ren use the toilet and shower before they swim.
Avoid swimming if your child has been ill from diarrhoea.
We advise that all children with long hair wear a swimming cap or hair is tied back. All jewellery MUST be removed.
Goggles are optional, but we do advise that you choose very carefully for your Childs safety, if you need any help, please do not hesitate to ask a member of staff for assistance.
